The third “W” in the BW3s nickname bestowed upon Buffalo Wild Wings may soon stand for something other than the weck rolls the sports bar originally used to serve: wagering.
According to ESPN, the chain which is known for serving up hot wings, cold beers, and sports of all kinds is exploring adding sports betting to its menu now that it is becoming legalized.
In order to get betting into its bars, Buffalo Wild Wings would probably have to partner with a current gaming operator in order to meet requirements imposed by individual states.
“As the largest sports bar in America, we believe Buffalo Wild Wings is uniquely positioned to leverage sports gaming to enhance the restaurant experience for our guests,” a company spokesperson told ESPN. “We are actively exploring opportunities, including potential partners, as we evaluate the next steps for our brand.”
If B-Dubs does introduce sports betting, it may help the brand attract the millennial customer base that has been ignoring the chain and ordering delivery for football Sundays instead.
Fingers, and tenders, crossed.
