“He has the support of his contemporaries," Rodgers said.

Earlier this week, LeBron James got support from a top politician and some NFL Hall of Famers after getting slammed by President Trump in a Twitter tirade that also took shots at CNN.

Now, someone else is throwing his weight behind the King: Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

In an interview with NFL Media’s Michael Silver, Rodgers said it was “absolutely beautiful” James had taken the high road and not responded to Trump. By ignoring Trump’s tweet, James was taking “away the power of statements like that,” according to Rodgers.

The 34-year-old quarterback said he would have tweeted a response in support of James, but he knew the three-time NBA champion didn’t need his support.

“He has stood on his own two feet for years, and he has done some incredible things, and he needs no support,” Rodgers said. “He knows he has the support of his contemporaries, in his own sport and in other sports, and he’s gonna be fine.”

The Packers start the preseason on Thursday night against the Titans.
