ESPN Is Bringing Back “The Ocho” Next Week

The fictional channel from "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" will be very real on August 8.

In Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Average Joe’s and Globo Gym faced off in a dodgeball tournament and a fictional, and hilarious, television network covered the event.

For the second straight year, that network – ESPN8 “The Ocho” – will be real (and hopefully still hilarious).

On August 8 (8/8 – get it?), ESPN8 “The Ocho” will replace ESPN2 to air all sorts of programming and off-beat sports – as well as a few showing of the Dodgeball film itself.

Besides actual dodgeball, ESPN8 will show everything from ultimate frisbee and cornhole to eating contests and hurling.

Something called chess boxing will also air. “Chess boxing is a hybrid sport started in 2003 that is designed to test both the body and the mind with three minute rounds of each sport for a total of 11 rounds,” according to a press release.

On the 8th, get ready for more of this, hopefully.
