But you can buy tastiness. Example du jour: Chef Nathaniel Keller’s Sprig, a dinner delivery service born in Google’s cafeteria, available now.

Download the app. Enter your pertinents. Ring the dinner bell between 5:30 and 9:30 P.M., then wait like Pavlov’s dog for a knock at your door.

Easy peasy — and before it comes up, yes: the food’s local and sustainable. The packaging is compostable.

Keller cheffed at Google HQ, learning the ins of pleasing tech’s most finicky gourmands, before branching off to co-found Gastronaut, which is lunch catering for the more modestly sized startup.

Dinner-on-demand just seemed the next logical step.

Sprig is currently iPhone-only and serves a select set of zips in the city. Check the map to see if your place makes the list.

Sample Keller’s offerings (shake his hand, even) at Pier 2620 this Thursday evening. The event includes alcoholic cold-pressed juices, and it’s free for Sprig users.
