New to the list of little things that make life joyful: a phone charger that juices your device as it levitates and spins in the air.

Thank magnets. OvRcharge, the Canadian concern behind the concept,  uses two — one in a ultra slim case, the other inside a small block of wood which “provides an upward force sufficient to counteract gravity.”

The charge is sent through corresponding coils on either end, transmitting power in waves to be stored by your phone’s battery. This is pretty standard in the wireless charge space. Typically you keep the phone as close as possible to ensure a strong transfer, which is why the phone only hovers a few centimeterts above OvRcharge’s charge.

It’s on Kickstarter now, and the options for customization are limited to a black case and a base that’s offered in cherry, walnut or dark finishes. Delivery is projected for December. And no, it’s not too soon to think about holiday shopping.
