So, Bavaria sure looks fun.
As reimagined by model and famed fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth in her new photo book Heimat, the southern German state is a bevy of beautiful women traipsing through pastures, munching on giant pretzels and potato sack racing (nude, of course). And much lederhosen.
“It’s like going back in time,” said von Unwerth to WWD. “I lived in Bavaria from about age 10 to 16 and when I went back, it was incredible to see all these people who still dress in dirndls and lederhosen. I thought it would be fun to do a book in my way.”
A limited-edition hardcover, the book goes on sale in April for $850.
