During an interview with the Associated Press, president Donald Trump showed off a red button on his desk. It’s not unheard of for presidents to have call buttons that summon aides when needed (Obama had one and brought it to meetings more than once), but Trump’s special version has a much different purpose.
It’s a button that pages a butler to bring him Coca-Cola.

The Coke Button is also mentioned in a Financial Times interview with the president, during which he remarked that “everyone does get a little nervous when I press that button.” The Associated Press put the button in the context of Trump’s wealth, mentioning that he is “a man accustomed to wealth and its trappings.”
But whether this is an abuse of the presidential call button or the harmless quirk of an unorthodox president is up to the beholder.
