Instead Millennium is in talks with producers Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin for a reboot, directed by Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones). Replacing Perlman as the titular demon turned government agent will be Stranger Things star David Harbour.

The project, which will carry a more horror-friendly R rating, is tentatively called Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen.
Comic creator Mike Mignola, who co-wrote the screenplay, broke the news on his Facebook page.
After directing 2004’s Hellboy and 2008’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army, del Toro had long been circling a third installment featuring his intrepid hero triggering the apocalyptic. But he couldn’t agree with producers over a budget for his epic vision, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The early outpouring of reaction on Twitter from longtime fans was not so positive.
“Gettin alotta twitter love 2nite. Feelin it. Diggin it,” Perlman tweeted. “Much obliged, you, the faithful…”
