Soon, everyone will love Lucy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, streaming giant Amazon has picked up the rights to an Aaron Sorkin–penned Lucille Ball biopic, which will likely star Cate Blanchett as the famed funny woman.
The film will cover Ball’s life, marriage to Cuban actor/musician Desi Arnaz, and showbiz career, which came to prominence in the 1950s, when she and her husband co-created the television show I Love Lucy. (For people who might not be familiar with the show, watch the clip below. It only gets better with age.)
Ball was a four-time Emmy winner (and 13-time nominee), as well as the recipient of the Golden Globes’ Cecil B. DeMille Award in 1979. She died in 1989.
Her children, Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr., are set to produce the film.
