So you want to have some folks over for a get-together of one variety or another. You would prefer that said get-together is actually one that your guests will remember.
Ideally, the kind that they will then use as the stick by which they measure all other get-togethers. Here’s how you get it together:
DON’T DIY
Whether it’s for a dinner party or backyard BBQ, the digital age has ushered in a plethora of services whereby chef, bartender and attractive gopher can be had for exceedingly reasonable rates. Use them liberally — you’ll trade logistics for conversation and also look like a party pro.
SHAKE UP THE GUEST LIST
A simple tip to ensure a more interesting crowd: rather than inviting everyone yourself, invite half your desired number and tell each person to bring one of their “most interesting friends.” You’ll mix it up, make new pals for everyone, add an element of the unexpected, and make your guests feel more invested in the party as co-curators. Win-win-win-win.
