This $1.4M English Cottage Can Be Yours for $14

Good old-fashioned raffle, anyone?

14 bucks: more or less what I spent at Chipotle for lunch today.

Even considering currency conversion, that’s still not a better deal than this 14-dollar, 8,250 square-foot UK cottage 20 minutes outside Bristol.

The home, called “Roselands,” is being raffled off by Tricia Hamilton, a local hatmaker, cancer survivor and mother of two, ready to move on from the address she’s enjoyed for 20 years. Though her family has updated and remodeled the historic hamlet the past couple decades, it’s been on the market for a year listed at $1.4 million — to no avail.

Enter a little British creativity. While Hamilton has to sell a whole bunch of $14 tickets to meet her asking price, you only need to buy one to potentially win. Your new home would feature four bedrooms over three stories, a vegetable garden and fruit orchard, not to mention a whole new neighborhood acrosss the pond ready for exploration.

Register here, and start stocking up on tea and scones.
