If you’ve frequented a bar, shop or venue that’s currently closed due to coronavirus infection concerns, odds are good that you’ve probably heard about some sort of relief fund or fundraiser for staff who are currently out of work. Now, Larry David has made his own foray into the fundraising game, but it’s not temporarily unemployed bartenders or booksellers he’s looking to help out. CNN reports that David has embarked on what could literally be termed a green initiative.
David has established a GoFundMe page to benefit the caddies at California’s Riviera Country Club. “With the golf course closed indefinitely, the Rivera caddies need our help,” reads a message about the fundraiser. “Please contribute to help our caddies get thru this unprecedented time.”
As of this writing, the fundraiser was most of the way to its $150,000 goal — $122,585 of the way there, to be precise. The fundraiser was established by David in association with attorney Lloyd Braun, the man who inspired a character of the same name on Seinfeld.
David is one of several high-profile figures donating or leading awareness of donations with respect to the coronavirus. Other notable celebrities in this field include Zion Williamson, Rihanna and Robert Lewandowski. Hopefully the money raised by David and Braun will help get some people through a difficult time.
