Kimesha Williams, the sister of LA Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard, has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery that left an 84-year-old woman dead. As ESPN reports, Williams and an accomplice both face charges of robbery and first-degree murder after the Aug. 31 incident at the Penchaga Resort Casino.

Authorities claim that Williams, 35, and 39-year-old Candace Townsel followed the elderly victim — later identified as Afaf Anis Assad — into the casino’s bathroom, where they allegedly broke her skull and stole her purse. Assad died Wednesday (Sept. 4th) as a result of her injuries.

Williams is being held without bail because of her connection to Leonard, with a Riverside County sheriff’s investigator noting that she “has family that are well-off and could post her bail.” Her next court date is scheduled for Sept. 19.

Leonard signed a three-year, $103 million deal with the Clippers in July after leading the Toronto Raptors to their first championship in June. So far he has not commented publicly about his sister’s arrest.
