Joe Rogan’s Debut on Spotify Didn’t Include Some Past Controversial Episodes

Interviews with some alt-right figures and comedians are missing (though a few have been reinstated as of Friday)

Apparently $100 million doesn’t buy you everything.

Earlier this year Spotify shelled out a reported nine-figure payment to lure podcaster Joe Rogan to its streaming service, starting September 1.

That hundred million was supposed to include all the archives, but as Entertainment Weekly pointed out, several episodes with controversial guests are (or were initially) missing.

Missing episodes of the Joe Rogan Experience (many still available on YouTube) include interviews with controversial figures such as Alex Jones, David Seaman, Gavin McInnes, Milo Yiannopoulos, Gavin McInnes, Charles C. Johnson and, more recently for his actions, comedian Chris D’Elia. Also missing, randomly, are interviews with comedians Tommy Chong and Nick Kroll.

An episode with Jordan Peterson’s daughter was reportedly missing (as noted by her tweets, she was rather upset) but uploaded later; many other (but not all) episodes that were initially listed as missing have slowly migrated to the service as of Friday.

The news of the missing episodes might have triggered a massive drop in shares for the streaming service later in the week, according to Billboard.
