A Trump supporter disrupted a performance of Robert De Niro’s musical, A Bronx Tale, by standing up and displaying a “Make America Great!” flag that also read “Trump 2020.” The man was standing in the front row and turned the flag towards the audience. He stood while the cast members were taking their final bow.
A Bronx Tale is directed by De Niro and four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks. The New York Post writes that the man’s demonstration appears to be a response to the “F–k Trump” comments that De Niro made during the Tony Awards last week.
The times we live in. At the end of A Bronx Tale, a man turned around and faced the audience to show us how big of a pair he has. He was escorted shortly after. It’s sad that people can’t enjoy a beautiful show and embrace its unifying message without politicizing it. #broadway pic.twitter.com/6tVN4Qf4d6

While some people in the crowd did not seem to care about the demonstration, others were disappointed that someone would try to ruin the show.
Brian Strumwasser, a hair department supervisor on Bronx Tale and several other productions wrote on Instagram that the man “disrespected” the cast and crew.
