Just days after he was found asleep at the wheel of his Mercedes and charged with a DUI, footage of Tiger Woods stumbling his way through a sobriety test has been released.
And it’s almost certain to damage the once-beloved golf great’s already battered image with the public.
Police documents reportedly show Woods’ two Memorial Day breathalyzer tests scored .000, but it’s clear from the footage that he is heavily under the influence. Woods, though, later said prescription drugs were to blame.
“I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions,” Woods said in a statement. “I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.”
Critics argue that Woods, who is only a few years separated from an ugly adultery scandal, is in danger of losing his entire legacy because of his behavior.
