Wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista put a verbal smackdown on Disney over the firing of writer-director James Gunn.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star tweeted on Sunday that he will appear in the third film in the franchise because he is “obligated” to do so, but said that it is “pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists cyber-Nazis.”
I will do what Im legally obligated to do but @Guardians without @JamesGunn is not what I signed up for. GOTG w/o @JamesGunn just isn’t GOTG. Its also pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists #cybernazis . That’s just how I feel https://t.co/Ym4FwruVDu

Bautista tweeted this in response to a Twitter user who asked the Drax actor if he would return to the Disney franchise after Gunn was fired weeks ago after old, offensive tweets were resurfaced by right-wing detractors.
Bautista is among the cast who penned an open letter asking Gunn to be reinstated immediately.
Bautista has been one of the most vocal cast members about his disgust, and has tweeted multiple times about the matter, according to The Hollywood Reporter. After Disney announced Gunn would not be back for the Marvel film, the filmmaker, who wrote and directed the first two Guardian installments, said he understood and accepted the decision.
