Which is why Mitchell and Stephen Rosenthal (they of the SoMa mini-empire that includes La Capra, Town Hall, Salt House and Anchor & Hope) just opened Jersey, a 2nd Street tribute to East Coast-style pies that sits atop this month’s edition of Table Stakes.
What to order? The Trenton tomato pie, built on naught but mozzarella, parmesan and red sauce.
The best things in life don’t have to be complicated.
Elsewhere, we have two new offerings from Michelin stars: Melissa Perello of Frances has a new spot in Pac Heights, and husand-and-wife team Sachin Chopra and Shoshana Wolff are bringing a new iteration of San Mateo’s All Spice to the city.
Plus: a tapas place from a Mugaritz-trained chef and the wonderfully over-the-top Dragon Beaux, which has us wondering why every restaurant on the planet can’t offer some version of an all-you-can-eat menu.
