Because every man needs a plan, and some of us need that plan with pretty pictures, we present Where to Take Her: a series that answers a gentleman’s most pressing lifestyle questions and recurs whenever we get around to it.

This go-round: our picks for skiing getaways, from high-tone to rustic. Put on your goggles.

Boyne Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa: Located at the tip of the Michigan Mitt, Boyne Mountain offers plenty of kid-friendly terrain and daily Kids’ Camps through their SnowSports Academy. Also on hand: Avalanche Bay, Michigan’s largest indoor waterpark.

Mount Bohemia: The Upper Peninsula’s most badass little ski resort, Mount Bohemia caters to hardcore winter sportists. We’re talking 95 runs — 93 of which are Black Diamonds — and a 900-foot vertical drop, the highest in the Midwest. Ski-in/ski-out from your own private yurt.

Crystal Mountain: After hitting the slopes at this northern Michigan resort, hit the Crystal Spa, an 18,500-square-foot certified “green” spa — the only of its kind in the Midwest.

Granite Peak at Rib Mountain State Park: At the base of this mountain is Wausau, the little ski town that could. You’ll find the locals at one of the town’s two microbreweries: The Great Dane or The Red Eye. As for lodging, shack up at the Jefferson Street Inn, downtown Wausau’s best.

Rustic Ridge Log Cabins: Located on 40 acres of wooded hills in the Baraboo Bluffs, these rustic cabins are the perfect place to stay after a full day of runs at nearby Devil’s Head.
