This weekend marks the grand opening of the spankin’ new iO Theater. If you can make it, congrats — more than 20 celebrity alumni are coming out to celebrate. Here’s your guide to a gut-busting good time. Bonus: there will be no hangover. You’ll see why.
In a nutshell, the new digs have four theaters, three bars and a beer garden. Saddle up to the first floor bar, where they’re serving up a full food and drink menu. Highlights from the menu: báhn mí pork flatbread pizza. Bacon burgers with quail egg. DIY chicken & waffles.
Our favorite: Improvised Shakespeare Co., in which a band of brothers put on a fully improvised Elizabethan play based on a title suggested by the audience. Pedigree: Sir Patrick Stewart has performed with ‘em. Catch it this weekend, along with one-liners from legendary improv alumni like Jack McBrayer and David Koechner.
After the show, head back to the bar and feel free to get sideways (full drink menu here) — you’re going to be fine in the a.m. Guaranteed.
You know what’s not funny? Hangovers. That’s why you call up the The IV Doc, the just-launched service that does house calls with an IV drip full of enough electrolytes and anti-nausea meds to nip ol’ Irish flu in the bits. All implemented by a bona fide MD or registered nurse, available 24/7.
