This ‘69 Hot Rod Mod Is One of the Five People You Meet in Heaven

Even Camaros get the blues

Every Camaro is going to turn heads.

But this custom ‘69 Camaro RS job from RingBrothers? It straight up breaks necks.

As the Brothers tell it, when Wisconsin native and “G-Code” owner Don Atkinson came to them, he wanted a Camaro like no other. And so the job was on, beginning with the power plant. Using the LS3 motor from Chevy, they swooped things up with a Whipper Supercharger and an increase of 416 cubic inches in displacement, which all amounts to a heart-pounding output of 1,000 ponies.

To utilize that power as efficiently as possible, they then fitted the RS with a Bowler-built Tremec six-speed transmission and a Centerforce Clutch with a Prestone coolant to keep everything nice and chill, with everything exiting via a custom Flowmaster stainless steel exhaust system.

Working from the inside out with the driver’s comfort top of mind, the interior is lined in a retro caramel from Upholstery Unlimited and will be kept in buttery perfect condition courtesy of a Vintage Air climate control system. Moving to the exterior, each bit was custom built, from the bumpers to the grille to the hood’s hand-laid carbon fiber and BASF Glasurit “Blue Print” polish.

She’ll certainly push a purist’s limits, but won’t go so far as to challenge what makes a Camaro, a Camaro.
