Rejoice: Patagonia Releases a Collection of ‘Silent’ Down Jackets

Forever solving problems we didn’t know existed

Because of the current dearth of actual problems in the world, the good folks at Patagonia have set their sites on an issue that has surely been front and center on the minds of woke people everywhere: What, if anything, can be done about the tyranny of down jackets that make too much noise when we move?

Well, fret no more, for Patagonia has released a line of Silent Down Jackets that boldly (but quietly!) address this exact and very real problem.

Made of 100% recycled down and 70% recycled fabric, the new garments are a lot like garments from the regular Patagonia line. The men’s jacket above, for instance, features 700-fill power down, a stand-up collar, an insulated, stowable hood, a handy interior media pocket and a DWR finish that’ll keep out water. But it’s also, you know, quiet.

To be fair: the jacket (as well as the “shirt” version) seems perfectly fine, and given Patagonia’s sterling reputation, they’re probably way better than fine. We are, admittedly, being jerks for no real reason whatsoever, especially considering the brand’s unimpeachable commitment to social awareness.
