According to The Guardian, Canadian pop prince Justin Bieber has been banned from performing in the People’s Republic of China due to his expensive bad behavior habit.
In a July 18 statement, Beijing’s culture bureau explained its decision. “Justin Bieber is … a controversial young foreign singer,” citing his “bad behavior” that has caused “public dissatisfaction” around the world.
This comes on the heels of Bieber’s world tour hitting Asia this summer, playing shows in Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Singapore. It’s unclear whether the ban includes his Hong Kong show.
Bieber has played China in the past. In 2013, he made headlines by having bodyguards carry him up the Great Wall of China.
Other bands that have been banned from playing the PRC include Oasis and Maroon 5, according to The Guardian.
