The Marine Corps’ Deadliest Vietnam Sniper

If you polled the average person on the historical or military significance of Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock, you’ll probably get more than a few blank stares. But ask a Marine, and you’ll likely be regaled with stories of one of the United States’ greatest and most accurate snipers. With 93 confirmed kills, Sgt. Hathcock was a precise, deadly machine on the battlefield during the Vietnam War. Below, watch Hathcock tell the story of one of his most daring feats, a “one-man attack” in which he “squirmed on his side” for two miles to take out an enemy target from 700 yards.
