Apparently big boys do cry, and big girls love it.

This newbie to the Olympic winner’s circle got a bit teary-eyed — and it’s not just the chlorine.

Ryan Held, along with Caleb Dressel, Nathan Adrian and most decorated Olympian since Zeus, Michael Phelps, took home the win for the U.S. in the 4 x 100 relay.

The 21-year-old Held, who swam the third leg of the relay, was overcome with emotion from his first win, and he let it all out as the “Star Spangled Banner” played to recognize America’s victory.

You might find that a bit embarrassing. A touch … unmanly.

According to the women of Twitter, you’d be wrong. They are utterly smitten with the sobbing waterboy.

(The gold medal probably helps a bit, too).

Looks like Held might be able to score more than gold medals this week.
