Russian Architecture Firm Designs Towering New York Skyscraper

There will be a new tower dominating the Manhattan skyline.

Moscow-based architecture firm Meganom has unveiled its concept designs for its upcoming 262 Fifth Avenue project—a luxury apartment building in Midtown Manhattan.

According to Dezeen, the super-skinny, 1,001-foot-tall building, is set to be built in New York City’s Nomad district near Madison Square Park (it’ll have some pretty high-end neighbors, too).

As the firm notes on its website, each apartment is positioned like a “shelf” above the other, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a 180-degree, unobstructed view to the north and south. The “open room,” just above the building’s penthouse, will be reservable for private functions. Speaking of the penthouse, check out the rendering below.

Per Meganom’s website, this is the firm’s first project in the U.S., but it has been hard at work on major projects in Russia, including Moscow’s Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and the recent renovation of the Kremlin Museum.
