When it comes to the playthings of the 1%, the humble superyacht is second to none.

It is decadent. It is excessive. And, for those lucky enough to own one, it is nirvana.

The Monaco Yacht Show — the world’s premier ode to abnormally large and expensive watercraft — celebrated its 25th anniversary this past weekend. The showcase featured 120 swoon-worthy custom boats as well as the launch of 40 new production-line powerhouses.

What began as a very small affair in 1991 now garners the interests of some 500 fat-walleted design enthusiasts annually. It is (appropriately) hosted in Monaco, a country that plays home to the most billionaires and millionaires worldwide per capita.

Below: some for sale, some simply for wiping drool off the chin. Call them our pick of the yacht.

Built on the premise that “when you have achieved everything in life, all that is left is your generosity,” the 278-foot Solandge was the largest work in show. Requires a 29-person crew and sports six decks, a master dwelling, a VIP cabin and six lavish guest cabins. Look inside.

Silver Fast

She goes where no other yacht can. Fast, light and efficient, the Silver Fast boasts a shallow draft for charting coastal waters. Recently declared up for sale, there’s now word yet on whether the beauty was scooped by some lucky chap at this year’s show. Look inside.

Italian-built, some of Suerte’s minor features include a pool with a glass bottom, an aquarium and ample garage space for the supercars you keep on your superyacht. Look inside.

Also up for grabs as of showtime, the Okto superyacht stands out for a handsome aesthetic and incomparably quiet motor. Her engines produce about one-third to half the vibrations of comparable seafaring beasts, making for a peaceful experience in cabin or on deck. Look inside.

Making its debut at Monaco, Kiss is built with the esteemed owner in mind. Four guest cabins offer unfettered below-deck enjoyment, while the upper deck accommodates an opulent master suite and a fully stocked saloon. Look inside.
