You Will Never Be as Happy as This Icelandic Soccer Announcer Was for 30 Seconds Yesterday

Hear that? That's the sound of pure, unbridled joy.

Iceland won a soccer game yesterday.

Normally, this would not be global news.

But this win happened to be the one that qualified Iceland for the knockout stages of a major tournament for the first time in the 323,000-person island nation’s sporting history.

And at the moment qualification was secured — care of a stoppage-time goal from Arnor Ingvi Traustason — Guðmundur “Gummi Ben” Benediktsson, who was calling the game on Icelandic national television, turned into a human-shaped pile of orgasmic jubilation.

Iceland plays England in the first knockout round on Monday at 3 EST.

If they win, Benediktsson will almost certainly spontaneously combust.

Tune in.
