After the NFL successfully managed to suspend Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott last year, Dallas went 3-3 during the six games that he missed and failed to make the playoffs.

Thanks to that, and a ruling that cost Cowboys owner Jerry Jones millions of dollars, it’s safe to say NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is going to be a Texas-sized target tonight at the draft.

In order to help prevent its commish from getting booed royally, the NFL will send some all-time Cowboys greats to the stage with Goodell at AT&T Stadium.

Team favorites including retired quarterbacks Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman and current tight end Jason Witten will all be accompanying Goodell during tonight’s festivities.

“I’m sure he’s going to get a good response with us being out there,” Staubach said. “If they boo, all of us are in trouble.”

Given what happened with Goodell in Philadelphia last year, we’d guess they’re in trouble.
