Brett Favre Denies Report His 'MNF’ Audition Was a Bust

On the heels of a report from The New York Post that he bombed an audition with ESPN for a spot in the broadcast booth on “Monday Night Football,” Brett Favre took to Twitter to share his side of the story.

According to the retired QB, the job didn’t work out because he wasn’t sure he wanted it.

“Wanted to clear something up from today’s press on me & ESPN,” Favre wrote on Twitter. “Truth is I had a good meeting about possibly joining the MNF crew. I was intrigued when they called yet not sure I want to pursue a broadcasting career right now. I wish them the best of luck and a great season. Brett”

On the one hand, this could just be Favre attempting to save face in the public eye and stick it to a publication that relentlessly covered his alleged sexting of Jenn Sterger.

On the other hand, he could be telling the truth as the indecisive behavior Favre – who famously wavered on if he was going to retire or not for years – describes in the tweet does sound like him.
