There has been a dragon sighting on the internet.
HBO released the full trailer for Season 7 of its hit fantasy drama, Game of Thrones, on Thursday—and the forecast calls for epic bloody battles before winter comes.
Up until now, we’ve known about as much as Jon Snow about the major plot points of the upcoming penultimate season. The series has long charged ahead of its source material, the writings of George R.R. Martin, who is still toiling through his 6th book in the Song of Ice and Fire series.
The seventh season of Game of Thrones premieres on July 16.
Thursday’s trailer release, though, provides a glimpse at the impending storm of swords when Queen Cersei (Lena Headey) and her Lannister army face off against her growing legion of enemies, including Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Snow (Kit Harington).
“Enemies to the east, enemies to the west, enemies to the south, enemies to the north,” Cersei says in a voiceover. “Whatever stands in our way? We will defeat it.”
Well, that was before she saw the fully grown dragon.
