It has a Hail Mary’s chance of happening, but former MLB slugger Jose Canseco thinks he can turn Tim Tebow into a legit power hitter.
After watching the ex-Heisman winner hit, Canseco believes he knows how to fix Tebow’s swing and wants to teach the 31-year-old some of the secrets that helped him club 462 home runs during his 17-year career.
“He needs help,” Canseco told TMZ Sports. “I just saw him. The swing looks so mechanical, so bad. I’m surprised nobody’s helping him out.”
Canseco also noted Tebow is “extremely strong” and “extremely physical.”
“I can definitely turn him into a power hitter,” Canseco added. “I can easily get him up to 35 to 45 home runs [at the MLB level]. At the AAA level, he could hit 50. I can really turn him into a power hitter just working on his technique and his attitude. His swing is really too short and too rotational to create power.”
Canseco is serious enough about the offer to work with Tebow that he reached out about the possibility on Twitter.
Tim Tebow let me help you with your swing I just saw one of your bats you have no rhythm right now and you're to rotational I will help you for free I'm a fan of yours

Tebow has hit 14 home runs in 701 minor league at-bats as a member of the New York Mets organization.
The first of those dingers came in Tebow’s first at-bat in the minors.
