For once, your mirror isn’t lying to you.

Naked, “the world’s first 3D body scanner for the home,” officially launched pre-orders today, with units shipping this fall. A full-length 3D scanning mirror and turntable scale, Naked uses depth-sensing tech to create a three-dimensional model of your body.

Naked Labs

The setup is simple: You (naked or almost so) step on the scale, which takes rotates you 360 degrees in 20 seconds. The unit then sends a 3D scan to your smartphone’s Naked app, where you’ll get the (heh) skinny on your body fat percent, plus lean/fat mass, circumferences, side-by-side comparisons and historical data.

So you’re getting a lot more data analysis than weight and height, and you can graph results over time on 3D avatars. “I can go in and click on any body part and the app will plot how it’s changed over time,” CEO/co-founder Farhad Farahbakhshian explained to me back in 2016, when I saw the prototype.

Plus, it’s a pretty decent looking full-length mirror, for what it’s worth. And it’s worth a lot: Naked is now available for $1,395; those who pre-ordered will have their units shipped today (August 1). New orders will ship this fall.
