John Coltrane’s ‘A Love Supreme’ Added to National Recording Registry

John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme, which the jazz saxophonist and his band released in February 1965, was recently added to the National Recording Registry. Recorded in a single session in December ’64, the album went on to inform a variety of musical genres—and even cracked the top 50 of Rolling Stone‘s rock-and-roll-heavy “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list. Listen to the full album below.
