The actor whose Game of Thrones tenure ended in one of the TV show’s most iconic scenes may be offered one of the most iconic roles in movie history.
Richard Madden, who played Robb Stark — at least up until the hit HBO series’ infamous “Red Wedding” episode — went on to star in the BBC drama Bodyguard after his reign as King in the North ended.
His portrayal of sergeant David Budd has caught the attention of James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli and she is reportedly going to tap Madden to replace Daniel Craig as 007 once he leaves the role.
“It’s seriously looking like he [Madden] is going to get the job,” a source said, according to The Sun. “Not only is he on top of Barbara’s list, but she is preparing to offer the role.”
Other actors who are being considered for the role are Idris Elba and Tom Hardy.
Craig is filming his fifth Bond film right now but has said this will be his last time portraying the spy. The new film premieres on February 14, 2020.
