Well, Arnold Schwarzenegger made it official—he will be back.
The 69-year-old action star told Screen Daily from the Cannes Film Festival this weekend that he will reprise his famed killer robot in another Terminator movie.
Original creator James Cameron previously announced that he will return to the franchise as a producer—unable to direct because he’s up to his bearded neck in Avatar movies.
“It is back,” Schwarzenegger told the site. “It is moving forward. (Cameron) has some good ideas of how to continue with the franchise.”
“I will be in the movie,” he confirmed.
It’s questionable whether an artificially intelligent computer would greenlight the project after the box office disappointment of the last installment in the franchise, 2015’s Terminator Genisys. That movie did, however, still gross $440 million globally.
Schwarzenegger also added that the long-delayed Triplets (a sequel to the 1988 comedy, Twins) and another tour of duty as Conan are also still in the works.
