Mocked for Weight, James Harden Ignores Reporters After NBA Preseason Debut
Harden has yet to speak to the media since requesting a trade from the Houston Rockets
Following his preseason debut for the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night, James Harden pulled a Kyrie Irving and elected not to speak to reporters.
Harden has not spoken to the media since he ended his holdout from attending training camp after requesting a trade out of Houston.
During Houston’s 112-98 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, Harden did appear to be a little bit out of shape and viewers took notice.
Despite how he looked, Harden was fit enough to play 21 minutes in the win over the Spurs and finished with 12 points on 3-of-10 shooting, three rebounds, four assists and three turnovers.
“He was good,” first-year Rockets coach Stephen Silas said after the game. “I mean, he’s obviously a great player and can do so many things on the floor, on and off the ball. Defensively, he has great hands and makes plays and is smart. So to have him out there was great.”
Harden told the Rockets, who already dealt Russell Westbrook to the Wizards in exchange for John Wall, he wants to be dealt out of the Western Conference to either the 76ers, Bucks, Nets or Heat.
“At the end of the day, he’s going to do what’s best for him and the organization is going to do what’s best for them also,” Wall said.
