Though he didn’t take the field for the Vikings, 49ers, Ravens, Titans, Chiefs, Texans, Packers or Seahawks, David Baker was one of the brightest stars of the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

Baker, the president of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, appears on CBS on Saturday and Fox on Sunday in order inform former NFL coaches Bill Cowher and Jimmy Johnson that they’d been selected for this summer’s class of Canton inductees.

Clad in a bright red suit on Saturday and a bright blue one the following day, Baker made a large impression on the viewing audiences of both broadcasts and also made both Cowher and Johnson get choked up.

So, what else do we know about Baker other than he has a knack for reducing Super Bowl-winning coaches to tears?

Well, according to The Ringer’s 6-foot-9 Baker tips the scales at nearly 400 pounds and used to play professional basketball in Switzerland. The commissioner of the Arena Football League for 12 years before it went bankrupt, Baker was named president of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in January of 2014.

An attorney by trade who earned an English degree at the University of California at Irvine and a doctorate from the Pepperdine School of Law, Baker has helped the Hall more than double its assets during his time with the organization.

“Baker came to Canton with a reputation as an experienced and passionate leader in business, politics and sports,” according to his official bio. “He is dedicated to inspiring exponential growth in individuals and organizations of excellence that seek to make a difference in their communities and the world. He possesses a long record of success as a catalyst for growth.”
