The Golden State Warriors’ season has been off to a rough start this year, and it just encountered another obstacle. Draymond Green injured his finger when the Warriors played the Spurs on Friday night. It may not be as severe as Steph Curry’s broken hand, which will keep him off the court for months, but it’s another injury to a player critical to the Warriors’ hopes this season.

ESPN’s Nick Friedell has the details. “Green was wearing a wrap over both his wrist and left index finger when he met with reporters following Friday’s game,” he notes in his report on the forward’s injury.

Green told reporters that the injury, incurred partway through the game, affected his style of play. “I was making a lot of one-handed, right-handed passes and dribbling left with my right hand,” he said. “I couldn’t really grip the ball, so we’ll see. Hopefully, it will calm down a little bit overnight, but who knows?”

Green also addressed Curry’s absence, and its effect on the mood at home games. “The hope is that people ride with you through the thick and the thin, but that’s just not the reality of this world that we live in, so it is what it is,” he said. “We got each other and we’re going to rock with that, and that’s all that matters.”

The Warriors are set to play the Charlotte Hornets tonight. It’s unclear if Green’s injury will allow him to play.
