Saturday Night Live continues to enlist some A-listers for cameos on the show’s politically-tinged cold opens. But much of the actual material, unfortunately, remains B-grade.

On Saturday’s episode, Ben Stiller made a surprise visit to Studio 8H to play Donald Trump’s embattled lawyer, Michael Cohen. But the biggest shocker was the sketch’s other major cameo, Stiller’s Meet the Parents co-star, Robert De Niro, who delivered an impersonation of Robert Mueller.

“You know how much evidence I have in my office?,” exclaims Stiller’s Cohen to Attorney General Jeff Sessions (Kate McKinnon) and Vice President Mike Pence (Beck Bennett). “I’m Donald Trump’s lawyer. I have an entire hard drive that’s just labeled ‘yikes!’”

Cohen is eventually ushered into a lie detector test with Mueller himself. Despite the initial chuckle over seeing the Meet the Parents co-stars, however, parody the lie-detector scene from that movie, most of the political jokes fall flat, to tell the truth. The investigation’s initial code name for Trump, for example, turns out to be, “Putin’s Little Bitch.”
