Last week, rumors circulated online that actor Armie Hammer — now a Hollywood pariah after multiple women accused him of rape and physical abuse, and screenshots of texts he wrote expressing cannibalistic fantasies surfaced — is currently working at a hotel resort in the Cayman Islands. Although a representative for Hammer and the hotel in question both initially denied the actor was working there, Variety now reports that he is, in fact, currently spending his days selling timeshares to tourists.

Citing an anonymous source, the publication reports that photos of the actor working at a resort in the Caymans that ran recently on TMZ are legitimate.

“He is working at the resort and selling timeshares. He is working at a cubicle,” the source said. “The reality is he’s totally broke, and is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family.”

The source went on to say that prior to working as a timeshare salesman, Hammer was managing an apartment complex in the Cayman Islands. He’s obviously unable to get work in Hollywood now, and he reportedly took the jobs so he could be near his two young children, who have been living in the Caymans with his ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers. Hammer also previously spent time in rehab after all the allegations against him came to light.

But how could Hammer, who — in addition to making millions as an actor — grew up extremely wealthy, due to the fact that his great-grandfather was the oil tycoon Armand Hammer, possibly be broke? According to Variety, “Despite his family lineage, the source explains that he is not on the family payroll, and needs to work a normal and respectable job to earn money, since he is not getting work in Hollywood.”

So if you’re looking to buy a timeshare in the Caymans, we know a guy.
