According to a Page Six report, comedian and admitted sexual predator Louis C.K. received a standing ovation from the crowd when he appeared for a surprise set at a fundraiser.

“You would have thought that God showed up, the response he got,” an anonymous source at the Patrice O’Neal benefit at New York’s City Center told the publication, adding that C.K. received “a standing ovation and prolonged screaming from the sold-out crowd.”

The comic — who admitted in 2017 to masturbating in front of female comedians and added that “I also took advantage of the fact that I was widely admired in my and their community, which disabled them from sharing their story and brought hardship to them when they tried because people who look up to me didn’t want to hear it” — reportedly joked to the crowd that he’s been spending a lot of time in Europe because that’s where they still book him.

Bill Burr, Roy Wood Jr., Paul Virzi, Ronny Chieng, and Andrew Schulz were also on the bill for the event.
