Trevor Noah Mocks Trump’s Reaction to Release of Prisoners

The late-night host poked fun at Trump's focus on the TV ratings after the prisoners returned.

Three Americans who had been held by North Korea have been released and returned back to the United States. On his show, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Noah mocks the president’s reaction to the situation.

“I think we can all agree that it’s a great moment. And we can also agree that Donald Trump can make a really great moment, really weird,” Noah said. He then showed a clip of Trump commenting on the TV ratings of 3 a.m.

“Only Trump could be thinking about TV ratings in the middle of hostages coming home party,” Noah said. “It’s 3 a.m., who cares about ratings? Does Donald Trump have a rivalry with the lady from the pasta boat infomercial? What are you doing”

Noah also had some fun with Trump’s comments about Kim Jong Un. In front of reporters after the prisoners were back in the U.S., Trump thanked the North Korean leader and said that he was “excellent” to the prisoners. Noah said it was like Trump had Stockholm syndrome.
