For the second time, chef Massimo Bottura’s Osteria Francescana has been named the best restaurant in the world. Located in Modena, Italy, the restaurant took the number-one spot at the 2018 World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards, beating out New York City’s Eleven Madison Park, which was honored with the top spot at last year’s awards ceremony, but placed fourth this year. Osteria Francescana won first place in 2016.
EMP’s chef, Daniel Humm, and his business partner, Will Guidara, said in a statement, “Regardless of where we stand on the list, we feel incredibly honored and humbled to be part of this community of chefs,” according to Town & Country.
