Since Steve Bannon has left the White House, he has returned to be the executive chairman of Breitbart News, which is located in the basement of a townhouse he calls the Breitbart Embassy. The townhouse is also, possibly, where Bannon lives, reports New York Magazine.
Like so many things about the former chief strategist and senior counselor to President Donald Trump, Bannon’s permanent residence has long been a mystery. According to public records, Bannon has had addresses in California, New York, and Florida, reports New York.
Bannon still refuses to call the $2.35 million, three-story Breitbart Embassy home. Built in 1890, it is located on A Street Northeast near Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. and is owned by a former member of the Egyptian parliament named Moustafa El-Gindy.
But New York writes that if he doesn’t live here, “he has a strange way of showing it.” He has instructions for his post-White House diet on the fridge, a picture of his daughter on the mantel, his luggage has been seen moving in and out of the home. The house has gold curtains and muraled walls, and crystal chandeliers. And Bannon throws parties there.
“It’s quintessential Bannon,” said a journalist who attended a recent party, to New York. “He wants to be seen as this populist, flame-throwing, take-on-the-whole-Establishment — and yet he has a Dean & Deluca party and clearly covets everyone being there, standing under chandeliers and taking selfies, and his private security carrying his bags out to the private plane to California.”
