Heritage recently auctioned off three double-sided documents, which literally made it to the moon and back. The pages were the moon landing sequence for Apollo 11’s Lunar Module. Or as pilot Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin put it, “[They] enabled the actual landing by Man on the surface of the Moon.” On closer inspection, their step-by-step procedures include the “Braking Phase,” which started the module’s descent towards the moon; and “Landing Confirmation,” which is self-explanatory. The papers were from Aldrin’s personal collection and sold for $175,000. At the bottom, watch the historic video of the moon landing on July 20, 1969.
