Robots are entering the workforce, assisting us online, and helping us with every task we don’t want to do ourselves. More and more, a life of luxury means that robots and AI are likely helping you live your life to its fullest.

With the ease that developers can develop new bots, we’re seeing an increase in all kinds of AI technology hitting the market. Businesses and private consumers alike are benefiting from outsourcing their work to robots of every kind.

The future is here, and it appears that your status may be partly measured by how many robots you have at your command. Here are five kinds of robots that can help you live a more lux life.

Live with Your Family (Even If They’re Across the Country)

Ohmni (OhmniLabs)

There is nothing that shakes up a close-knit family more than one of its members moving far away. It’s so hard to stay in touch, even with social media and Skype available. How many times have you wished you were a fly on the wall at distant family gatherings, or visiting with your grandkids during family game night?

Well, now thanks to OhmniLabs and the concept of telepresence, you can be there. Ohmni is a robot specifically designed for families to interact with one another. According to its press release, when researching the need for the product, “the team at OhmniLabs studied families around the world and found that these ‘shared experiences’ were what people missed most.”

Ohmni is simple to set up. It is made and shipped to you from Santa Clara, Calif. You just unfold it, connect to your Wi-Fi, and share access with family members and friends. Through the app, and from anywhere in the world, your loved ones can operate the robot, move around the house, take a walk, cook dinner, or even play Monopoly.

“Families today are often spread out across countries and continents, making it a challenge to stay in touch. I use Ohmni with my grandma in Vietnam and it’s amazing how natural our interaction is,” said Thuc Vu, co-founder and CEO of OhmniLabs.

Ohmni is meant to enhance shared experiences across large distances, thereby preserving and maintaining important human relationships. Ohmni is priced at $,1499.

Buy Diamonds

(Rare Carat)

They say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend. According to Statista, the world diamond market reached a value of 80.1 billion in 2016. They might still be the world’s best symbol of status and luxury, but buying them can be stressful. Unless you know what to look for, you might exit a jewelry store wondering if you’ve been duped. That’s where Rocky comes in.

An unbiased diamond consultant, Rocky is the app that lets you shop from the comfort of your own home, using AI, and armed with all the knowledge you need about diamonds at your fingertips.

Ajay Anand, a former consultant, has launched Rare Carat and created an app to meet the needs of both educated and novice diamond buyers. He thought of the idea while shopping for engagement rings for his then-girlfriend. Much like Kayak for flights, Rare Carat and Rocky, its virtual assistant app, helps search for diamonds online.

The best thing about Rocky? He’s free.

Rocky is an unbiased advisor that will take the sales pressure off of buying diamonds, at the same time equipping you with the knowledge you need to make a smart purchase. Consider him your own personal jeweler that lives in your back pocket.

Put Your Virtual Assistant to Work

There is a wide range of various personal assistants currently on the market, including iPhone’s Siri which has been out for quite a while now. They cost anywhere from $50 to $1000, but they save you something that is priceless: time.

Google Duplex, the controversial new personal assistant coming to market, is a smart assistant that will make appointments for you, interacting with humans on your behalf and more. There is debate surrounding the ethical dilemma that this new assistant poses, though, and much has been written on the topic lately. Many have expressed concerns with the possibility of being called by a robot disguised as a human.

Chris Butler, Director of AI at PhilosoFiphia says “Virtual assistants are interesting because they can use a combination of direct access to APIs or websites and now with Duplex humans themselves. You can see this with x.ai which is an assistant for booking meetings. It gains access to your calendar, say Google Calendar, via APIs and will use email direct to other people to book the appointments.

“The future of these virtual assistants is to handle tasks that are considered to be part of the human-domain,” says Butler. He points out where robots are even being used for creative tasks, like website design and more.

But he notes that the one thing these machines are lacking is purpose. They can take care of the daily minutia, but the search for a meaningful life, connection, and purpose must be answered by a human. Having robots take care of the tasks that we don’t like, frees up time for us to pursue what we love.

Vacuum Your Carpet

Eufy RoboVac 11 (Eufy)

Wouldn’t it be nice to eliminate part of the 83 hours a year you do housework? The robotic vacuum cleaner has been around for a while, but later models are getting better, quieter, and more efficient. Ranging in price from $225 to $800, there are some great robotic vacuum cleaners on the market now.

Digital Trends ranked the Eufy RoboVac 11 as the best in its class, and at $250, the price is reasonable. With an app and several options from daily use to spot cleaning, it takes the hassle out of keeping your floors clean.

Mow Your Lawn

Husqvarna Automower 450X (Husqvarna)

In the not too distant future, all the tasks that we don’t want to do ourselves will be automated—for a price of course. And that includes one of America’s biggest household complaints: mowing the lawn.

Did you know that the average person spends over 96 hours a year doing lawn care according to the 2016 American time use survey? What a time suck.

A wealth of companies are stepping up to the plate to ease this burden for Americans who can afford it. Ranging in price from $600 to $3500, you can find the best robotic lawn mower to suit your needs. Of course, you have to “fence” them to make sure they don’t wander, but most come with a security feature in case that jealous neighbor wants to make off with it when you’re not looking.

You don’t necessarily have to be wealthy to benefit from robots in your life, but if you’re measuring wealth by time, robots can help make you a richer person.
