Former NBA star Dennis Rodman headed back to his buddy Kim-Jong un’s North Korea Tuesday—to do, well, something about the crises enveloping the Asian dictatorship and the U.S.
What that something is is anybody’s guess.
One possibility was the release of Otto F. Warmbier, a 23-year-old American college student who had been held in North Korea for attempting to swipe a propaganda poster last year, per The New York Times.
Warmbier had been sentenced to 15 years of hard labor—and held in the country for 17 months. He was freed, but is currently in a coma, a condition he’s been in for over a year.
As the Times noted, “(Warmbier’s) release followed secret negotiations between American officials and the government in Pyongyang that unfolded as tensions escalated over North Korea’s nuclear program.”
Some believe that Rodman was headed to North Korea with a message from President Trump—but others’ educated guess is that he’s going to chill with Kim-Jong un on his insanely lavish personal island, while his people starve. Just like last time.
Rodman, an NBA Hall of Famer known for his multicolored hair and bizarre lifestyle, tweeted about his arrival in North Korea, as part of a trip sponsored by PotCoin.com, a service that provides banking services for the marijuana industry.
