CBS has finally released the first look at the Magnum P.I. reboot, with Jay Hernandez taking over Tom Selleck’s iconic Detroit Tigers cap. The trailer looks great, which is a good sign for the beloved show.
The show is a modern take on the original series. Magnum is a decorated former Navy SEAL who repurposes his military skills after coming home from Afghanistan to become a private investigator. The biggest change? Higgens is now a woman, played by Perdita Weeks. The second biggest change? No mustache on Magnum.
It appears like in the reboot, Magnum will go through three Ferraris, starting with a 458 Spider, which gets shot up. He then moves on to the classic 308 GTS from the original series, which gets demolished and thrown off a cliff, before finally ending up with a brand new Portofino.
