Can Kathy Griffin Come Back From Comedy Exile?

Eight months after torching her career by attacking President Trump, the comedian is figuring out her next moves.

Eight months after her career was ruined by a not-so-funny photograph of a decapitated Donald Trump, Kathy Griffin is holed up in her Bel Air mansion, talking to the FBI and pondering if it is possible to return to the spotlight. “When you’re a woman, you get one f**k up and it’s over,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. Griffin, 57, lives in a 13,000-square-foot residence in Bel Air with her 39-year-old boyfriend and tour manager Randy Bick. It has nine bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, an elevator, a 12-car garage, an infinity pool with a view, a movie theater, and an all-male staff. She also has double-gated, 24-hour security. For a while, she didn’t think much of the security. But ever since she posted a fake photo of herself holding Donald Trump’s decapitated head, the gates are the only thing that let her sleep at night. Ever since that photo was released, she has lost long-time friend, received death threats, been targeted by federal agents investigating whether she should be charged with conspiracy to assassinate the president (the answer after two months of investigating, was no). She watched as her career fell apart as venue after venue canceled her cross-country tour dates. To get her life back, Griffin took her tour overseas. Some people are already predicting her comeback, like Jimmy Kimmel, who offered her a spot on his show whenever she’s ready to talk.
